Decorate your home with style and simplicity without burdening your conscience with B2C Furniture’s elegant range of sustainably sourced hardwood furniture.
It’s 2022 - we know how important it is to have your home looking fresh and furnished, whilst staying true to the newest trends and having that ‘Insta-worthy’ abode that we’ve always dreamed of. However, as not only a retailer, but also consumers ourselves, we are increasingly aware of the impact our purchasing habits have on our environment, planet, and future generations. Our sustainable furniture range is here to quell those worries!
We know how hard it can be to choose between what’s right for your home styling and what’s best for the greater good. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to sell sustainable furniture that’s not only on-trend, but built from sustainable timber, to give our good green planet the best chance it has at survival.
Furniture shouldn’t cost the earth, nor should it cost the Earth its survival.

As finalists this year in the Power Retail All Star Awards for ‘Top Sustainable Retailer’, we know a thing or two about sustainably sourcing our products. We use Malaysian Rubberwood in our furniture - sourced from a plantation which has been accredited by the MTIB - the Malaysian Timber Industry Board. This means that there has been an accredited third party recognise that our products and processes are sustainable and eco-friendly over the long term - how exciting!
To give you a helping hand, we’ve put together some tips - inspired by our friends over at Style Curator - to help you reach your styling goals without compromising on the quality of your pieces - or the future of the planet!

Think about your purchases!
The first step may seem like the most obvious, but being really conscious of our spending and where we’re sourcing our items from can make a huge difference, rather than making an impulse purchase that you may live to regret. It’s high time to really put some thought into sourcing sustainable furniture materials that will stand the test of time.
Doing comprehensive research into the retailers you’re choosing to buy from and the business practices they’re using can go a long way in making ethical and sustainable choices. Not only that, but putting time between you and your spending really affords you the chance to decide if you actually need that new plant or lampshade, or if you can upcycle or repurpose something old; sustainable homewares are just as important as affordable, sustainable furniture. Avoiding contributing to landfill where we can is also a huge part of being sustainable!
Our signature hardwood pieces are made from Malaysian Rubberwood, which in itself is hard-wearing and long-lasting, but when it does reach the natural end of its life, can be broken down and recycled or repurposed. We’ve tried to step as far as possible back from ‘fast furniture’ and items that are destined to end up in landfill after only 12 months.

Buy for your space
It may seem obvious, but taking the time to measure and research based on the space you’re trying to fill can take most of the labour and time (not to mention the cost!) out of choosing your perfect furniture fit. There’s nothing worse than buying an 8-seater dining table for it to be too big for your space, and having to either return it or have it sit around idly in storage somewhere until one of your kids moves out and needs it. Sourcing sustainable furniture pieces that fit your space comfortably and don’t need to be replaced will help you contribute to the eco-friendly furniture lifestyle.
By calculating how much space you have to work with you remove the need for remeasuring and the possibility for any mistakes - ‘measure twice, cut once’ as they say! We think it is far better to purchase a timeless piece that will stand the test of time, and just needs styling with some sustainable home decor - a new vase or centerpiece to give it a new lease on life.
Decorate sustainably
It’s not just about the furniture - it’s what you style it with too that can make all the difference! At B2C we know that sustainability is about so much more than just us as a business, which is why we are constantly striving to work with sustainable partners for our manufacturing, packaging, and distribution networks.

Sustainability isn’t just a one-time choice; it’s a commitment you need to make to yourself and your purchases, ensuring you will make long-term, eco-friendly decisions for the benefit of the planet and future generations. We manufacture sustainable furniture now so our children and their children will still have access to materials we too often take for granted!
Decorating sustainably also means not just buying things because you think you need them! Have a plan before you venture out; know what spaces you need to fill in your home, whether it’s a table top or a shelving space, and set yourself to one idea - otherwise you’ll come home with more than you need! We’ve all been there, and it’s time to start shopping smarter. Hit up Pinterest and make a mood board before you venture out, so you can really solidify your vision and see what’s going to work - and what’s not.
If you do decide something has to go, don’t let it slip into landfill. Repurpose it in another room, upcycle it to give it another life, or sell it to a friend or on Marketplace - you’ll make someone’s day!

Keep yourself accountable
At B2C Furniture we understand that sustainability isn’t stagnant, it’s a journey, and as such we are constantly on the lookout for opportunities to be environmentally friendly across all aspects of our business - from the felling of trees right down to the packaging that makes its way to your homes! Every decision we make as a business, and our customers make as consumers - no matter how small - makes a difference.
In previous years, the word "sustainable" was not really a term used in the furniture industry. Fast fashion was all the rage, and furniture was considered something that should be cheap and easy to replace every few years. However, as environmental awareness has grown, so has the demand for sustainable and eco-friendly furniture and homeware products - it’s our niche, if we do say so ourselves!
Our goal has always been to offer customers quality products made by manufacturers with real expertise in sustainable, timeless design. Take a look at our extensive range of bedroom, dining, kids, and living furniture to see just what it really is that sets us apart from the rest.
